Smoking Vs Vaping
What’s better? Smoking or vaping? When it comes to cannabis, this question gets asked all the time. Depending on who you ask, you’ll get varying answers.
Cannabis has been used in one way or another for thousands of years, with evidence of cannabis smoking dating back to as far as 2,500 years ago.
Vaping cannabis, on the other hand, is a very new activity. With our fascination with new gadgets, cannabis vaporizers are hugely popular. And with anything new, many automatically assume it is always better.
While vaping cannabis has its benefits, research is still on the fence about whether it is superior to smoking. Call us old fashioned, but we still think smoking is still the way to go.
Why Vaping May Not Be All It’s Cracked Up To Be
If you’ve taken any time to read up on vaping, you’ve likely encountered all sorts of reasons why it is better than smoking. It’s important to note though, that most of the time, these comparisons are done with tobacco cigarettes and E-cigarettes, not with smokable cannabis and cannabis vapes.
Vaping Cannabis Isn’t Necessarily Better for Your Health
The assumption has been that since vaping cannabis negates the issues inherent with inhaling burnt plant material, it’s automatically the better choice. Researchers are finding that this isn’t necessarily the case though.
For example, one study found that even vaping just once could damage your lungs. Another more recent study found that regular vaporizer users could potentially be doubling their chances of having a heart attack, compared to non-users.
Because of this, and recent deaths and other health issues related to black-market THC vape products, several states have started warning cannabis users of the potential dangers of vaping cannabis liquids, especially those containing Vitamin E acetate.
Vaping Cannabis Doesn’t Feel the Same
Aside from the negative health aspects of vaping cannabis, there are several other issues with these products.
For starters, the high you get from vaping cannabis is not the same as from cannabis, and not necessarily in a good way. While some people have come to prefer the more energetic feeling they get from vaping cannabis, it’s not for everyone.
Potentially due to this, many cannabis vape users report stronger adverse, or negative, reactions from vaping cannabis. In one study, researchers compared vaping and smoking comparable amounts of cannabis, and found that the effects of vaping cannabis were notably stronger, and produced “significant, sometimes adverse, drug effects…”, even at low doses.
Why We Prefer Light THC Pre-rolls Over Vapes
Compared to THC vapes, we find that low-THC cannabis pre-rolls simply offer a more relaxing experience, without nearly the amount of negative side effects. And many of our customers feel the same way.
While many new users of THC vapes report feelings of anxiety and nervousness, our customers report a relaxed experience, free from the adverse effects of too much THC.
If you’re looking for something to help you chill out and relax throughout the day, while still being able to function, it’s hard to fault Alive & Kicking Pre-Rolls.
